Make It Happen is about an extreme mission where André Leonardo went backpacking around the world to meet entrepreneurs and exciting new business ideas!
He travelled alone to the 4 corners of the world taking only a backpack and a camera. He gathered inspiring entrepreneurship stories throughout his 126-thousand-kilometer journey and which he presents us in his book. Here the word entrepreneurship takes on a new meaning and definitely reveals itself as a lifestyle. An attitude towards life regardless of the environment and time we live in.
At age 24, the Azorean from Terceira Island André Leonardo set off on a journey around the world which would take him to 23 different countries. His goal was simple: to seek energy and joy beyond the «crisis» and the «debt», to establish contact with positive people, to let himself be swept away by business and life entrepreneurs, to learn from people who overcame all kinds of adversities and who, not only created companies and promoted new projects, but also made it happen by facing the present and the future with optimism and ability to dream. It was crucial to gather the cases happening all over the world, in different societies, cultures and radically different political and economic settings, and yet all connected by the same will to make it happen.
– Bel Pesce, a Brazilian entrepreneur who, against all odds, got in MIT, set up her own company and became, at a very young age, one of the most influential people in Brazil, because of her moving-forward spirit.
– Ricardo Teixeira, a Portuguese man who, even after being left paraplegic, continued to fight in order to achieve his aims, worked at the giant Microsoft and set up his own successful company, which currently employs 60 people.
– The young man from Tanzania who became a motivational speaker after having taught himself as a child how to make his own electrical installation at home from books he requested from the local library.
– The story of the Indian “Cristiano Ronaldo” who, in order to survive, became an ear-cleaning professional and, in a particularly harsh reality, was able to make a living.
These are some of the inspiring stories you can find in the book Make It Happen. Stories that André Leonardo gathered throughout his 126-thousand-kilometer journey and which he presents us in his book, where the word entrepreneurship takes on a new meaning and definitely reveals itself as a lifestyle and as an attitude towards life regardless of the environment and time we live in.
